The Street Family: February 2009

We had Jacob's best friend (Dawson) from Winnipeg, Manitoba come and visit us this last week. (And Dawson's mom, Stephanie and little brother Landon).

Jacob and Dawson played so good together, only one fight one day when we were at the playground. Dawson said that the President of the United States, President Obama controlled the skies and Jacob did NOT think this was true. So they decided to not be friends anymore. Stephanie explained that the President may control airplanes, rockets etc in the sky but he doesn't control the sun or moon or stars. The fight was over and they were back to being best friends. I thought this was the funniest thing ever - first of all Dawson is a Canadian and then 2 five year olds fighting over politics already?!! WOW!

We went to the Ft. Worth Wildlife Center and Refuge, the Zoo, the park, played in the back and front yards a LOT, rode bikes, played with the neighbor, splashed in puddles, braved a trip to the store, had a movie night!

We tried having the big boys sleep in the same bedroom, but the first night Dawson was too scared, the second night they were up till after 10 PM and the third night/fourth morning they got up at 6 AM. So we had to split them up so we could ALL get more sleep and be a little happier.

I didn't know that you could find your best friend at 3 years old - Jacob and Dawson met at preschool and it was instant friends. They love to be together, don't fight, talk all day long (about what? - I don't know), use their little imaginations to create and do such fun things and they crack each other up.
